- Step 2: Clean the VesselWash a vase thoroughly with warm water and soap.Bacteria is the number one cause of premature wilting.
- Step 3: Cut at an AngleTrim 1 inch off the bottom of each stem using sharp shears.Cut at a 45-degree angle to maximize water absorption surface area.Never use blunt kitchen scissors, which crush the vascular system of the stem.
